A method, apparatus and system for resizing a window in a video display include determining (104) an optimal window edge position based upon an aspect ratio of input content. An on-screen cursor is positioned (106) at a location to initiate a resizing operation. A determination of whether the location is proximate -to the optimal window edge position is made (110). If the. location is proximate to the optimal window edge location, a window edge position is adjusted (112) to the optimal window edge position.

L'invention porte sur une méthode, un appareil et un système de redimensionnement d'une fenêtre dans un afficheur vidéo, consistant à déterminer (104) la position optimale d'un bord de fenêtre en se basant sur le rapport de format d'un contenu introduit. À cet effet on place un curseur sur l'écran (106) dans un emplacement pour commencer l'opération de redimensionnement, puis on détermine si l'emplacement est proche ou non de la position optimale du bord de la fenêtre (110). Si l'emplacement est proche on ajuste (112) la position du bord de fenêtre, à la position optimal du bord de fenêtre.
