Abstract of the Disclosure An asphalt recycling apparatus includes support means and at least two longitudinally-spaced luminous wall heaters carried on the support means in a position closely adjacent to the pavement. A scarifier is carried by the support means in a position longitudinally behind the luminous wall heaters. The apparatus can include leveling augers carried by the support means behind the scarifier, as well as a screed for final leveling of the prepared surface. The apparatus can also include a conveyor for introducing new or reconditioned asphalt behind the apparatus so that a new asphalt surface is produced by the apparatus. Use of temperature controlled and spaced luminous wall heaters prevents ignition of the asphalt surface being prepared for resurfacing.
