Abstract of the Disclosure An apparatus for repairing potholes in an asphalt surface includes a frame which carries one or more luminous wall heaters in a position adjacent to and above the asphalt area to be repaired. Controls are provided to turn the heaters on and off so as to provide a soak time between sequential applications of heat to the asphalt area. The soak time permits heating of the deeper areas of asphalt so as to provide superior bond between the existing asphalt and the patching material. Sections of the luminous wall heaters may be pivoted from a first position which provide a square configuration to a second posi- tion which provides a rectangular configuration.
