ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An asphaltic concrete compound comprised of asphalt cement and aggregate has as a substantial portion of its aggregate clean anthra- cite coal fines and is particularly useful when laid down as a pavement which can be freed of ice using microwave energy. It is also useful as a patching material for damaged pavement wherein a coating of this com- pound on the damaged surfaces facilitates the penetration of heat into the damaged pavement to insure a strong bond therewith.
