This invention is an aspiration needle apparatus (221) for collecting cell samples from tissue comprising a vacuum container (246) having an enclosed evacuated space evacuated to a sub-ambient pressure and sealed by a penetrable diaphragm (256). An adapter (242) is provided having a recess (263) which is adapted to receive the vacuum container. A needle assembly (251) is carried by the adapter (242) and has a distal extremity serving as an aspiration needle to collect the cell sample. The proximal extremity (252) of the needle assembly is disposed in said recess and is capable of penetrating the diaphragm of the vacuum container to couple the evacuated space to the flow passage of the needle assembly to supply a sub-ambient pressure to the distal extremity of the needle assembly. An on/off mechanism (261) is carried by the adapter (242) and includes a member (262) engaged by the vacuum container and mounted in the recess (263) for axial movement in the recess.
Cette invention concerne un appareil à aiguille d'aspiration (221) destiné au prélèvement d'échantillons de cellules dans un tissu, lequel appareil comporte un conteneur d'aspiration (246) ayant un espace clos vidé qui se trouve à une pression inférieure à la pression ambiante et qui est scellé par un diaphragme (256) pouvant être traversé. Un adaptateur (242) comporte un enfoncement (263) conçu de manière à recevoir le conteneur d'aspiration. Un dispositif d'aiguille (251) supporté par l'adaptateur (242) comprend une extrémité distale servant d'aiguille d'aspiration afin de prélever les échantillons de cellules. L'extrémité proximale (252) du dispositif d'aiguille est disposée dans ledit enfoncement et peut traverser le diaphragme du conteneur d'aspiration de manière à mettre en relation l'espace vidé et le passage d'écoulement du dispositif d'aiguille, permettant ainsi de créer à l'extrémité distale dudit dispositif d'aiguille une pression inférieure à la pression ambiante. Un mécanisme de marche/arrêt (261) monté sur l'adaptateur (242) comprend un élément entrant en contact avec le conteneur d'aspiration et monté dans l'enfoncement (263) en vue de son mouvement axial dans ce même enfoncement.
