Disclosed is an assay device to determine the presence of at least one analyte of interest in a liquid sample, the device comprising means for generating a first signal (the ~test~ signal) which indicates the presence and/or amount of analyte of interest in the sample; and means for generating a second signal, the generation of which second signal indicates both (a) the test has been successfully conducted, and that (b) sufficient time has elapsed following contact of the assay device with the liquid sample for the test to be read and the first signal to have been properly generated.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de dosage servant à déterminer la présence d'au moins un analyte pertinent dans un échantillon liquide. Ce dispositif comporte un moyen pour générer un premier signal (le signal <= test >=), lequel indique la présence et/ou laquantité de l'analyte pertinent dans l'échantillon, ainsi qu'un moyen pour générer un second signal, la génération de ce second signal indiquant à la fois (a) que le test a été réalisé avec succès et (b) que suffisamment de temps s'est écoulé après le contact entre le dispositif de dosage et l'échantillon liquide, de sorte que le test peut être lu et le premier signal généré de manière appropriée.
