Tubulin mutations commonly associated with resistance to paclitaxel are defined, and PCR allele-specific primers capable of detecting the mutations in DNA from tumor cells are described as well as method for treating paclitaxel- resistant cells in tumors. A simple, rapid, and cost effective means for detecting paclitaxel-resistant cells in tumor biopsies from patients receiving paclitaxel therapy is disclosed.

L'invention porte sur la définition de mutations des tubules communément associées à la résistance au paclitaxel, sur la description d'amorces spécifiques d'allèles obtenues par PCR capables de détecter les mutations de l'ADN de cellules tumorales, sur un procédé de traitement des cellules tumorales résistant au paclitaxel, et sur un moyen simple, rapide et économique de détection des cellules tumorales résistant au paclitaxel dans des biopsies de tumeurs de patients en cours de traitement.
