This invention provides a method and a device for determining the presence and/or quantity of a hydrophobic analyte in a biological solution suspected of containing the analyte with enhanced sensitivity and precision. Sensitivity and precision of the method are achieved by selecting and using an antibody capable of binding to hydrophobic regions of the analyte. The device comprises a chromatographic assay strip (20) having a sample addition zone (21), a test zone (22), a receiving zone (23), and an antibody labelling zone (24). An antibody labelling reagent is supported at zone (24).
Cette invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de déterminer la présence et/ou la quantité d'un analyte hydrophobe dans une solution biologique dont on présume qu'elle contient l'analyte, avec une sensibilité et une précision accrues. On obtient une telle sensibilité et une telle précision du procédé en choisissant un anticorps capable de se lier à des zones hydrophobes de l'analyte, en ajoutant l'anticorps choisi à l'analyte puis en appliquant la solution contenant l'analyte à des matières solides du procédé et du dispositif, et donc en empêchant l'adsorption des analytes par les matières solides.
