Methods and kits are described for testing for the presence or absence of any fungus in a sample. Examples of fungi that can be detected include, but are not limited to, those belonging to the genera Candida, Aspergillus and Pneumocystis. The methods include obtaining a sample suspected of containing fungal nucleic acid, including at least one universal region of fungal nucleic acid, and testing for the presence or absence in the sample of the at least one universal region of fungal nucleic acid. Samples may be biological or non-biological.

Procédés et trousses permettant de contrôler la présence ou l'absence d'un champignon quelconque dans un échantillon. La liste des champignons pouvant être détectés comprend, sans s'y réduire, les champignons appartenant aux genres Candida, Aspergilluset Pneumocysti. Les procédés consistent à prélever un échantillon soupçonné de contenir un acide nucléique fongique, dont au moins une région universelle d'acide nucléique fongique, et à vérifier la présence ou l'absence dans l'échantillon d'au moins une région universelle d'acide nucléique fongique. Les échantillons peuvent être d'origine biologique ou non.
