An apparatus (10) and process are provided for drilling and completing multiple subterranean wells from a template which is secured within a cased well bore extending to the surface. An orienting cam (11) having a bore (20) therethrough is positioned above the template such that the bore through the orienting cam is automatically aligned with one of at least two bores through the template. Fluid tight seals are provided between the orienting cam and the casing and between the orienting cam and one of the at least two bores through the template. Thereafter, a drill string including a drill bit is lowered from the surface of the earth through the casing, the bore through the orienting cam and the one bore through said template to drill a first subterranean well bore.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) et un procédé permettant de forer et de compléter des puits souterrains multiples à partir d'un châssis de guidage fixé à l'intérieur d'un trou de forage tubé s'étendant vers la surface. On positionne une came d'orientation (11) pourvue d'un trou de sonde traversant (20), au-dessus du châssis, de façon que le trou de la came d'orientation s'aligne automatiquement avec au moins un des deux trous du châssis. Des obturateurs hermétiques aux fluides sont disposés entre la came et le tubage, et entre la came et au moins un des deux trous du châssis. Ensuite, on descend depuis la surface de la terre un train de sonde pourvu d'un trépan à travers le tubage, le trou de la came d'orientation et le trou dudit châssis, afin de forer un premier trou de forage souterrain.
