The assembly comprises a tool holder (3) for a tool (1) such as a punch, a drill or a sewing-machine needle, and a clamping head (4) mounted on the end of a spindle (2), in particular a needle bar. The tool holder comprises an insert which rests on a seat (4a) of the head and is movably supported by it by means of the operation of two jaws (6a and 7a), one of which is provided at one end with two toggle levers (6 and 7) located on the body of the clamping head (4) and subject, at their other end, to a spring which acts to keep the jaws in a clamped position. An accurate positioning of the tool holder on the seat is obtained by the engagement of the upper edge of the tool holder in the bottom of a groove provided in the upper portion of the wall of the seat, and by maintaining this engagement by means of the thrust from tabs (10a and 10b) of a leaf spring (10) fixed to the head (4), against dog points (3f and 3g) of the tool holder (3).

Le porte- outil est formé par une plaquette se plaçant sur un siège (4a) de la tête et maintenue amoviblement sur celui-ci par action de deux mâchoires (6a et 7a) dont est pourvue une extrémité de deux leviers (6 et 7) articulés sur le corps de la tête de fixation (4) et soumis, à leur autre extrémité, à un ressort tendant à maintenir les mâchoires en position de serrage. Le positionnement précis du porte-outil sur le siège (4a) est assuré par appui du bord supérieur du premier dans le fond d'une rainure, ménagée dans la partie supérieure de la paroi du siége, et maintien de cet appui grâce à la poussée exercée par des pattes (10a et 10b) d'une lame- ressort (10), solidaire de la tête (4), sur des tétons (3f et 3g) que représente le porte-outil (3).
