This application concerns a assembly for packaging and application (1) of a liquid product (P) including a reservoir (2) with axis X, containing the said product, and having a neck (4) of which one free edge defines an opening (8); removable means (5) for hermetically sealing the said opening; an applicator (10) in the form of at least one block of open-cell or semi-open cell foam (12), capable of absorbing product by pumping, and mounted inside the neck, the said applicator having a first end (13) in permanent liquid communication with the product in the reservoir, a second end (14) opposing the said first end (13), the said second end (14) forming an applicator surface (15), axially movable between a first position in which the applicator surface (15) emerges outside the neck (4) through the said opening (8), for the purpose of applying product, and a second position in which the said applicator surface (15) is contained inside the reservoir (2).
