ASSEMBLY FOR PORTABLE BATTERY-OPERATED DEVICES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to portable battery-operated devices and the like. In accordance with one aspect thereof, an energizer means is provided for increasing the energy available to such an apparatus during extra or high load operation. The energizer means includes a first energizer circuit with primary battery means and a second energizer circuit having a reserve battery means in addition to the primary battery means. Switch means for switching the energizing circuit path between the first and second circuits in response to the motor load current is also included.
