An assembly is disclosed treating a moving web (1) of paper or paperboard with a web treatment substance, the assembly comprising an application chamber (P2) located in a close vicinity of the moving web (1) and facing the web (1), whereby the chamber is delineated by the web (1), the walls (12) of the coater apparatus and sealing means (18, 24, 35) adapted to operate at the web ingoing and outgoing sides of the application chamber (P2). For application of the web treatment substance, the assembly includes at least one linear nozzle array incorporating at least one nozzle (21) for spraying the web treatment substance onto the web (1). The coater apparatus is divided into chambers so that a suction chamber (P3) is located behind the application chamber (P2) as seen from the direction of the web (1) and is adapted to communicate with application chamber (P2), and a flow is established into the suction chamber (P3) and the application chamber (P2) for removing mist and accumulations of the web treatment substance in such a manner that the pressure of the application chamber (P2) is made lower than the ambient pressure and the pressure of the suction chamber (P3) lower than that of the application chamber. In the assembly, the free flow direction of substances contained in the assembly is firstly from the surroundings into the application chamber (P2) and then from the application chamber (P2) to the suction chamber (P3) and means (22) serving to establish the flow.
La présente invention concerne un ensemble pour traiter une bande (1) de papier ou de carton en mouvement, à l'aide d'une substance de traitement de bande. Cet ensemble comprend une enceinte d'application (P2), située à proximité immédiate de la bande (1) en mouvement et faisant face à cette même bande (1). Cette enceinte est délimitée par la bande (1), les parois (12) de l'appareil de revêtement et des éléments d'étanchéité (18, 24, 35) qui sont conçus pour fonctionner sur les côtés d'entrée et de sortie de bande de l'enceinte d'application (P2). Pour l'application de la substance de traitement de bande, l'ensemble présente au moins un réseau de buses linéaire, comprenant au moins une buse (21) qui permet de pulvériser la substance de traitement de bande sur la bande (1). L'appareil de revêtement est divisé en enceintes, de façon qu'une enceinte d'aspiration (P3) se trouve derrière l'enceinte d'application (P2), vue dans le sens de la bande (1), et puisse communiquer avec l'enceinte d'application (P2). Un courant est établi dans l'enceinte d'aspiration (P3) et dans l'enceinte d'application (P2), afin d'éliminer le brouillard et les accumulations de substance de traitement de bande, de façon que la pression de l'enceinte d'application (P2) est rendue inférieure à la pression ambiante et que la pression de l'enceinte d'aspiration (P3) est rendue inférieure à la pression de l'enceinte d'application. Le sens du courant libre de substances contenues dans cet ensemble va d'abord du milieu extérieur vers l'enceinte d'application (P2), puis de l'enceinte d'application (P2) vers l'enceinte d'aspiration (P3) et vers un système (22) servant à établir le courant.
