An assembly (1) for dissipating heat from an active matrix liquid crystal display module (20) while avoiding developing thermally induced mechanical stresses which can adversely affect the electro-optical properties of the liquid crystal material is disclosed. The liquid crystal display module (20) contains a first substrate (25) and a second substrate (30) and is affixed to a circuit board (15) containing electrical leads (17) for connection to drive electronics, in a way such that the second substrate (30) containing the active matrix elements (31) is suspended through a window or through-hole (16) in the circuit board (15) and is sunken or nested into a soft elastomeric gel (10) which is electrically non-conductive but thermally conductive. The gel (10) is contained in a base (5) having a cavity (8) and provides the requisite thermal conductivity to dissipate the heat via a base (5), with which the gel (10) is in thermal contact.
L'invention a pour objet un ensemble (1) pour dissiper la chaleur provenant d'un module d'affichage à cristaux liquides à matrice active (20), et empêcher simultanément l'apparition de contraintes mécaniques dues à un phénomène thermique, pouvant altérer les propriétés électro-optiques de la matière à cristaux liquides. Le module d'affichage à cristaux liquides (20) contient un premier support (25) et un deuxième support (30), et est fixé à une plaquette (15) contenant des fils électriques (17) à connecter à l'électronique de commande, de telle manière que le deuxième support (30) dans lequel se trouvent les éléments de la matrice active (31), soit passé tout en étant suspendu, à travers une fenêtre ou un trou de passage (16) dessiné(e) dans la plaquette (15), pour être noyé ou intégré à l'intérieur d'un gel d'élastomère mou (10), non électroconducteur, mais thermoconducteur. Le gel (10) est contenu dans une base (5) dotée d'une cavité (8). Il offre et présente la thermoconductivité nécessaire pour dissiper la chaleur à travers la base (5) avec laquelle le gel (10) est en contact thermique.
