The envelopes are obtained by folding and gluing individual sheets including three panels bearing patches of reusable glue on their rear face. The assembly is prepared at the printer's, then sent out to a first user, which may be a processing laboratory in the case of envelopes for sending out photographic films. The first user, possibly taking advantage of the fact that he receives a strip which has not been cut up, can mark on this strip the inscriptions which he desires, with the aid of a high-speed printer. After that, the leaves may be separated, if they are still attached, and packaged into envelopes before or after being dispatched to a second user, who may be the photographer. The sheets may constitute a continuous strip, or a stack of sheets arranged flat.
