The optical component (4) is mounted on an optical chip in alignment with an optical fibre (1) which is mounted within a V-groove (2) formed in the chip, the optical component (4) has two non-parallel location surfaces (4A, 4B) which abut against correspondinglocation features (5, 6) on the chip to locate the component (4) in a first direction (Y-axis) substantially perpendicular to the plane of the chip and in a second direction (Z-axis) which is perpendicular to said first direction (Y-axis) and substantially perpendicular to the length (X-axis) of the V-groove (2), and the optical component (4) is mounted on the chip so as to overhang one end (2A) of the V-groove to enable the end (1A) of the optical fibre (1) to be brought into a close, abutting relationship with the component (4).

Le composant optique (4) est monté sur une puce optique en alignement avec une fibre optique (1) montée à l'intérieur d'une rainure en V (2) formée dans la puce, le composant optique (4) présente deux surfaces de positionnement non parallèles (4A, 4B) venant en aboutement contre des parties de positionnement correspondantes (5, 6) sur la puce afin de placer le composant (4) dans un premier sens (axe Y) sensiblement perpendiculaire au plan de la puce et dans un second sens (axe Z) perpendiculaire audit premier sens (axe Y) et sensiblement perpendiculaire à la longueur (axe X) de la rainure en V (2), et le composant optique (4) est monté sur la puce de manière à surplomber une extrémité (2A) de la rainure en V pour permettre d'amener l'extrémité (1A) de la fibre optique (1) en une relation étroite d'aboutement avec le composant (4).
