An assistance system for loading and/or unloading (11, 12) passengers on board cars (C) of a transport installation (10) where the cars (C) move along a closed circuit comprises a rope (14, 28) in a closed loop having a first section (T1, T3) arranged tangentially to a section of the closed circuit and a second section (T2, T4) arranged along a loading and/or unloading area (16, 29) of the passengers on board vehicles (V, Y) coupled to the rope (14, 28) at regular intervals equal to a multiple of the interval between the cars (C). The drive means (M) of the rope (14, 28) are associated with means for servo-control of the running speed of the rope (14, 28) according to the speed of movement of the cars (C) able to continuously ensure that each vehicle (V, Y) running along the first section (T1, T3) occupies a position adjacent to a car (C).
