2-18598/A Asymmetrical oxalic acid diarylamide Abstract There is disclosed a water-soluble, asymmetrical oxalic acid diarylamide of general formula (1) Image wherein the substituents R1 are each independently of the other unsubstituted or hydroxy- or alkoxy-substituted C1-C5alkyl, unsubstituted or C1-C5a1kyl-substituted benzyl, R2 is hydrogen, halogen, C1-C12alkyl or phenyl-C1-C5alkyl, R3 is hydrogen, halogen, C1-C12alkyl, phenyl-C1-C5alkyl or C1-C5alkoxy, A is a direct bond or a divalent radical of formula -O-Q-, wherein Q is unsubstituted or hydroxy-substituted C1-C6alkylene, M is hydrogen or alkali metal, and r is 2,1 or 0. The novel water-soluble compound having fibre affinity is suitable for the photochemical and thermal stabilisation of polyamide fibre materials and the dyeings produced thereon.
