The invention is an exhaust extremity for machines installed inside a building necessitating the use of an exhaust pipe to vent exhaust air or other gasses or fumes out of the building. The proposed exhaust extremity has a dual closure which prevents outside air from entering the building and traps a certain amount of air in a revolving cylinder located between the two closures, thus providing thermal insulation between the inlet and outlet of the exhaust extremity when it is in a closed position. The cylinder has a plate that acts as a valve and counterweight, and two rectangular openings, one of which is under the valve. The valve is activated by the exhaust flow, which is deflected and propelled upwards by the inlet pipe, thereby causing the cylinder to pivot. The valve being pushed up, the exhaust flows through the opening under the valve, enters the cylinder and exits via the cylinder's second opening, which is also opened by the rotation of the cylinder. The exhaust flow then continues along the outlet pipe, which is pointed downward in order to protect the system from the elements (rain or snow) while allowing the exhaust to flow out of the building.
La présente invention est une extrémité d'échappement pour des appareils installés à l'intérieur d'un bâtiment nécessitant l'emploi d'un tuyau d'échappement pour évacuer l'air vicié ou d'autres sortes de gaz ou de fumées vers l'extérieur du bâtiment. L'extrémité d'échappement que l'on propose, possède une double fermeture qui empêche l'air extérieur d'entrer à l'intérieur du bâtiment et emprisonne une certaine quantité d'air dans un cylindre rotatif situé entre les deux fermetures, agissant ainsi comme isolant thermique entre l'entrée et la sortie de l'extrémité d'échappement lorsqu'elle est en position fermée. Le cylindre possède une plaque agissant à la manière d'un clapet et d'un contrepoids et deux ouvertures rectangulaires dont l'une d'elle située sous le clapet. Le clapet est actionné par le flux d'échappement qui est dévié vers le haut par la conduite d'entrée et poussé faisant ainsi pivoter le cylindre. Le clapet étant poussé vers le haut, le flux d'échappement passe par l'ouverture situé sous le clapet, entre à l'intérieur du cylindre et sort par la seconde ouverture du cylindre ouverte elle aussi lors de la rotation du cylindre. Le flux d'échappement poursuit ensuite son chemin par la conduite de sortie dirigée vers le bas, protégant ainsi le système des intempéries (pluie ou neige ) tout en laissant le flux s'échapper vers l'extérieur du bâtiment.
