The invention relates to continuous gas fluidised bed polymerisation of olefins, especially ethylene, propylene, or mixtures of these with other alpha- olefins, wherein the monomer-containing recycle gas employed to fluidise the bed is cooled to condense out at least some liquid hydrocarbon. The condensed liquid, which can be a monomer or an inert liquid, is separated from the recycle gas and fed directly to the fluidised bed, through a gas-induced atomiser nozzle (1), to produce cooling by latent heat of evaporation. The nozzle (1) is provided with a mechanical device (9) within the liquid inlet to the atomising chamber (5). The mechanical device (9) preatomises the liquid so that the nozzle (1) requires reduced amounts of gas compared with conventional gas-induced atomiser nozzles (1).
L'invention concerne la polymérisation en continu en lit fluidifié gazeux d'oléfines, notamment d'éthylène, de propylène ou de leurs mélanges avec d'autres alpha-oléfines, le gaz de recyclage contenant un monomère utilisé pour fluidifier le lit étant refroidi afin d'éliminer par condensation au moins une partie de l'hydrocarbure liquide. Le liquide condensé, qui peut être un monomère ou un liquide inerte, est séparé du gaz de recyclage et introduit directement dans le lit fluidisé, à travers une tuyère de pulvérisateur (1) à gaz, dans le but de provoquer un refroidissement par chaleur latente d'évaporation. La tuyère (1) est pourvue d'un dispositif mécanique (9) disposé à l'intérieur de l'orifice permettant au liquide d'entrer dans la chambre d'atomisation (5). Ce dispositif mécanique (9) effectue une pré-pulvérisation du liquide de manière à ce que la tuyère (1) ne nécessite que des quantités réduites de gaz par comparaison aux tuyères (1) de pulvérisateurs à gaz classiques.
