Atrial sensing and stimulation as intervention for atrial fibrillation. The present invention relates to a method of atrial defibrillation. In a variety of protocols varying combinations of conventional and biphasic stimulation are applied at threshold and subthreshold levels. In a preferred embodiment, the implantable electronic stimulation device of the present invention includes multiple electrodes having stimulating and sensing capabilities. The small size of these electrodes allows for intravenous insertion into the patient.
L'invention porte sur la détection et la stimulation de l'oreillette, utilisées en tant que moyens d'intervention en cas de fibrillation auriculaire. Elle concerne plus particulièrement un procédé de défibrillation auriculaire qui comporte divers protocoles prévoyant l'application de différentes combinaisons de stimulations conventionnelles et biphasées à des niveaux liminaires et infraliminaires. Dans une forme d'exécution préférée, un dispositif de stimulation électronique implantable comprend plusieurs électrodes capables d'assurer une stimulation et une détection. Grâce à leur petite taille, ces électrodes peuvent être implantées par voie intraveineuse.
