ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a heart pacemaker comprising circuitry for detecting and, if required, stimulating ventricular action, and circuitry for stimu- lating atrial action. Detection circuitry is provided for detecting atrial action as well as circuitry for triggering ventricular stimulation unless a spontaneous ventricular action follows within a first predetermined time intreval after either a detected spontaneous or a stimulated atrial action. The pacemaker includes circuitry for triggering an atrial action unless a spontaneous atrial action follows within a second predetermined time interval after either a detected spontaneous or a stimulated ventricular action.
