ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An attachment assembly includes an anchoring rod and a body of plastics material which can be fused or melted by heat. To secure the anchoring rod in a borehole, initially the body of plastics material is inserted and then the anchoring member is heated and driven into the body of plastics material. The heat changes the character of the plastics material so that it secures the anchoring member within the borehole. The body of plastics material is formed of granules. The granules can be in loose form within a destructible container or envelope or they can be secured or bonded together so that the body is a unitary member.
