Attachment members are used for securing insulation panels to structural components. Each attachment member includes a nail which is driven by a setting tool into the structural component. A connecting region on a guide tube of the setting tool generates a frictional force with a counter-connecting region of a hollow shaft in the attachment member when the nail is driven. By means of the generated frictional force it is possible to check if the attachment member is properly connected after the setting tool drives the nail. The frictional force between the guide tube and the inside surface of the hollow shaft is greater than the frictional force between the hollow shaft and the insulation panel.
