The present invention discloses an attenuated recombinant alphavirus that is incapable of replicating in mosquito cells and of transmission by mosquito vectors. These attenuated alphavirus may include but is not limited to Western Equine En-cephalitis virus, Eastern equine encephalitis virus, Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus or Chikungunya virus. The present inven-tion also discloses the method of generating such alphaviruses and their use as immunogenic compositions.
La présente invention porte sur un alphavirus recombinant atténué qui est incapable de se répliquer dans des cellules de moustique et d'une transmission par des vecteurs de moustique. Ces alphavirus atténués peuvent comprendre sans caractère limitatif un virus de l'Encéphalite équine de l'Ouest, un virus de l'Encéphalite équine de l'Est, un virus de l'Encéphalite équine du Venezuela ou un virus du Chikungunya. La présente invention porte également sur le procédé consistant à générer de tels alphavirus et sur leur utilisation en tant que compositions immunogènes.
