Audio recording occurs by input through a microphone (16) allowing storage thereof in memory (28). Control of the power supply (20) is affected with an on/off switch (22). The memory is addressable (30) to allow for playback through a typical loudspeaker (40). The audio data may be passed through a compressor (26) to reduce storage requirements. A decompressor (36) processes appropriate audio output to the loudspeaker (40) during replay.
