Un acier inoxydable austéno-ferritique ayant une bonne tenue à la corrosion et un indice d'usinabilité comportant une faible teneur en molybdène et une forte teneur en cuivre mis en solution par traitement thermique de l'alliage au-dessus de 900°C, la composition étant la suivante: C < 0,06% en poids; Si < 1,2; Mn < 3; 21 < Cr < 25; 3 < Ni < 6; 0,06 < N < 0,3; Mo < 1; 1 < Cu < 3,5; le solde étant du fer. La composition est équilibrée pour obtenir entre 30 et 70% de ferrite à l'austénite.
