An article (1) comprising a substrate (2) having a first portion of transparent plastic and/or cellulosic material, and a security device (4) provided at a second position on the article spaced laterally from the transparent first portion, wherein the transparent first portion includes verification means (11) to verify and/or inspect the security device when the first and second portions of the article are brought into register with one another. The article, which may comprise a label and/or tag, may be used as means for authenticating the origin of high value products.

L'invention concerne un article (1) constitué d'un substrat (2) qui comprend une première partie, formée d'un plastique transparent et/ou d'un matériau cellulosique; et un dispositif de sécurité (4), disposé sur l'article à un second emplacement situé à une certaine distance latérale de ladite première partie transparente. Cette dernière comporte un moyen de vérification (11), qui permet de vérifier et/ou inspecter le dispositif de sécurité quand la première et la seconde partie de l'article sont rapprochées de façon à coïncider. L'article, qui peut porter un label et/ou une étiquette, peut être utilisé pour authentifier l'origine de produits de valeur.
