ABSTRACT A camera tilt control apparatus is adapted with a means for substantially balancing a camera about a tilt axis, said means comprised of a mounting bracket operable to be connected to a camera stand or tripod, a pivot shaft operable as an axis, and a camera bracket rotatable about said axis and operable to be connected on one side of said axis to a camera, said camera bracket further comprising at least one adjustable counterweight means on the opposite side of said axis. The counterweight means further includes means to adjust the distance of said counterweight to said axis and a means to adjust the weight of said counterweights and further includes a means for maintaining a substantially constant center of gravity of said counterweight without regard to the weight of said counterweight. The apparatus is further adapted to provide adjustable resistance to an external force applied during a tilting procedure as a means of improving speed control of the tilt action.
