ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An autoclave for the curing or vulcanization of rubber hose has a straight elongate trough-shaped receptacle. The receptacle is provided with a unitary lid adapted to close the full length open top of the receptacle and closing means for moving the lid between open and closed positions. A fixed single center support and a plurality of longitudinally spaced and yieldable supports share equally the weight of the receptacle. Expandable seal means operate to seal the lid on the receptacle.
