F. 08 (Amax 956) AUTOCLAVE SODA DIGESTION OF SCHEELITE CONCENTRATES WITH FEEDBACK CONTROL Abstract of Disclosure A continuous process with feedback control is disclosed for the soda ash digestion of tungsten concentrates in which a slurry of the concentrate in an aqueous sodium carbonate solution is digested in an autoclave at a temperature of at least about 180°C to provide a pregnant solution of WO3. High dissolution efficiency is maintained during digestion by continuously monitoring the pregnant solution which includes determining the specific gravity and the Na2CO3 concentration of the pregnant liquor from which feedback signals are produced which are used to control the amount of Na2CO3 and H2O fed to the slurry in accordance with the digestion conditions predetermined to provide the desired dissolution efficiency.
