A water-based autodepositing coating composition that contains dissolved and/or dispersed anionic polyester resin comprising the condensate of (a) a polyhydric alcohol component and (b) an acid component in addition to acid, and metal ions and/or other oxidizing agents provides a coating composition that can impart an excellent corrosion resistance, adherence, and heat resistance to metal surfaces when appplied to the metal surfaces and dried into place thereon, preferably with the use of heat. A rinse is usually preferably interposed between the application of the auto-depositing composition and the drying operation.
L'invention concerne une composition de revêtement par autodépôt à base d'eau contenant une résine polyester anionique dissoute et/ou dispersée comprenant le condensat de (a) un constituant d'alcool polyhydrique et (b) un constituant d'acide en plus d'un acide, et des ions métal et/ou d'autres agents oxydants, laquelle permet d'obtenir une composition de revêtement pouvant conférer une excellente résistance à la corrosion, adhésion et résistance thermique à des surfaces métalliques lorsqu'elle est appliquée aux surfaces métalliques et séchée en place sur celles-ci, de préférence à l'aide de chaleur. Un produit de rinçage est de préférence et habituellement interposé entre l'application de la composition à autodépôt et l'opération de séchage.
