A machine for producing complex-shaped, three-dimensional engineered fiber preforms having unitary, integral and seamless structures, a method for making the preforms on the machine, and preforms produced thereby. The integral design and structure of the preform is formed by a combination of interlacing and non-interlacing fiber systems that permits variable cross- sectional area and dimensions from a first end to a second end along an axis via selective activation and control of at least one module, preferably a plurality of moduli connected to each other in any desirable configuration.
L'invention concerne une machine de production de préformes à base de fibres fonctionnelles, tridimensionnelles et de forme complexe, possédant des structures unitaires, monoblocs et sans couture, ainsi qu'un procédé de fabrication de ces préformes sur la machine, et des préformes ainsi produites. La conception et la structure monobloc de la préforme sont réalisées au moyen d'une combinaison de systèmes d'entrelacement et de non-entrelacement de fibres, permettant d'obtenir une section et des dimensions variables, d'une première à une seconde extrémité, le long d'un axe, par le biais d'un fonctionnement et d'une commande sélectifs d'au moins un module, de préférence plusieurs modules reliés les uns aux autres selon un quelconque agencement souhaitable.
