The present invention reveals an automatic sorting device capable of receiving articles from an input source, correctly choosing which of many output destinations to direct the articles, and transferring those articles without slowing the existing automated system. To accomplish its purpose, the device comprises: a sorting conveyor pivoted at its receiving end about a horizontal and vertical axis; a vertically moveable carriage, mounted within a horizontally moveable frame, that cradles the sorting conveyor between its receiving and output ends; tracks which support and guide the frame as it transverses side to side in front of an array of output destinations; and a controller capable of positioning the frame and carriage so the sorting conveyor output end is mated to the array conveyor receiving end identified as the article's output destination.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif de triage automatique pouvant recevoir des articles à partir d'une source d'entrée, choisir correctement vers laquelle des nombreuses destinations de sortie il doit diriger ces articles, et transférer ceux-ci sans ralentir le système automatique existant. Afin de pouvoir effectuer ces opérations, le dispositif comprend: une installation de transport et de triage, pivotant au niveau de son extrémité réceptrice autour d'un axe horizontal et d'un axe vertical, un chariot mobile verticalement, monté dans un cadre mobile horizontalement, lequel sert de berceau à l'installation de transport entre les extrémités d'entrée et de sortie de celle-ci, des glissières qui soutiennent et guident le cadre lorsque celui-ci se déplace transversalement d'un côté à un autre, face à un ensemble destinations de sortie, ainsi qu'un organe de commande pouvant positionner le cadre et le chariot de façon à faire correspondre l'extrémité de sortie de l'installation de transport et de triage avec une extrémité réceptrice de l'ensemble destinations de l'installation de transport, identifiée comme étant la destination de sortie de l'article.
