A method for automatic powering on and turning off of a communications device, comprising: defining a critical zone to be one of within or outside a range of a base station transceiver; sending a location message from one of the communications device and the base station transceiver; responding to the location message if the communications device is within the range; defining a location of the communications device to be within the range if the responding occurs; and triggering the communications device to one of powering on and turning off using the critical zone and the location of the communications device.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant d'automatiser la mise sous tension ou l'extinction d'un dispositif de communication, lequel procédé consiste à définir une zone critique comme étant une zone se trouvant à portée ou hors de portée d'un émetteur-récepteur d'une station de base; à envoyer un message de positionnement depuis le dispositif de communication ou depuis l'émetteur-récepteur de station de base; à répondre au message de positionnement si le dispositif de communication se trouve à portée dudit émetteur-récepteur; à définir une position du dispositif de communication se trouvant dans la zone de portée en cas de réponse; puis à placer le dispositif de communication soit en mode mise sous tension soit en mode éteint au moyen de la zone critique et de la position du dispositif de communication.
