An automated drive-up vending facility (10) and method utilizes a plurality of automatic transaction machines (12) located around the periphery of a storage building (14), whereby customers can drive their vehicles alongside the building, insert an account/debit card into a card reader (16), and make product selections via a touch screen display terminal (18). The products are stocked within building (14), and an automated picking/sorting subsystem (20) retrieves the selected products for deposit into a dispensing chute (22). Selection and product information is provided at the display terminals (18) via an interactive menu driven program. Selection of products subject to sales restrictions automatically activates video conferencing equipment (26) so that a sales attendant can confirm customer authorization to purchase the selected product. Customer purchasing history is stored and analysed to improve a product's chances of promotional marketing influencing a customer's product selection prior to the completion of a vending transaction.
Point de vente automatisé pour automobilistes (10) et son procédé, qui est constitué d'une multitude de guichets automatisés (12) situés sur le pourtour d'un bâtiment de stockage (14), et qui permet aux automobilistes de conduire leur véhicule le long du bâtiment, d'insérer une carte de crédit dans un lecteur de carte (16) et de sélectionner des produits au moyen d'un terminal à écran de visualisation tactile (18). Les produits sont stockés à l'intérieur du bâtiment (14), et un sous-système de sélection/triage (20) prélève les produits sélectionnés pour ensuite les déposer dans une goulotte de distribution (22). Les informations relatives aux produits et à leur sélection sont fournies au niveau de terminaux de visualisation (18) au moyen d'un programme interactif piloté par menu. La sélection de produits soumis à des restrictions de vente a pour effet de déclencher le dispositif de visioconférence (26), de manière qu'un vendeur puisse donner au client l'autorisation d'acheter le produit sélectionné. Un historique des achats du client est enregistré puis analysé afin d'augmenter les chances que le marketing publicitaire d'un produit a de pouvoir influer sur le comportement d'achat du client avant que celui-ci n'achève la transaction.
