A digital monitoring device for monitoring an analog gauge including a pointer, the digital monitoring device comprising: a pixilated optical sensor array for mounting over the analog gauge to generate a digital signal corresponding to movement of the pointer; an image processing means for reading the pointer of the analog gauge from the electrical signals from the pixilated array, and an alert output for outputting an alert corresponding to pointer exceeding acceptable boundaries.
Cette invention concerne un dispositif de surveillance numérique conçu pour surveiller une jauge analogique équipée d'un pointeur, lequel dispositif de surveillance numérique comprend un réseau de capteurs optiques pixélisé destiné à être monté sur la jauge numérique pour générer un signal numérique correspondant au mouvement du pointeur; une unité de traitement d'images destinée à lire le pointeur de la jauge analogique à partir des signaux électriques du réseau pixélisé; et une unité d'émission d'avertissement destinée à émettre un avertissement lorsque le pointeur dépasse des limites acceptables.
