A method, system, and computer program product for automatically generating an on-line stock portfolio based on a user's requests for quotes, without requiring the user to set up a log-in account or configure a portfolio manually. User requests for stock quotes are detected, and each requested security is added to a stored portfolio record. In subsequent sessions, the generated portfolio is displayed for the user.
