An apparatus for the automatic, continuous popping of popcorn having a popcorn popping kettle, a corn supply, a salt supply and an oil supply. Uniform predetermined amounts of corn and salt are delivered to the kettle. The kettle is heated prior to the introduction of the oil, corn and salt and emptied after substantially all of the popcorn in the kettle has popped. All of the steps are performed automatically in a predetermined sequence.
