According to a motion to be quantized, a plurality of motion trace positions are determined on an animal surface (step 1). Paint containing a pigment or fluorescent material is applied to the motion trace positions (step 2). An animal is imaged under light radiation (ultraviolet ray for a nocturnal animal) (step 3). In the image picked up, the plurality of marking portions are distinguished and representative points of the making portions are decided (step 4). According to the plurality of representative point position data, a particular movement is judged and output (step 5). A computer apparatus for executing these steps is configured.

Afin de quantifier un mouvement, une pluralit~ de positions de la trace du mouvement sont d~termin~es ~ la surface d'un animal (~tape 1). De la peinture contenant un pigment ou une mati­re fluorescente est appliqu~e sur ces positions de trace de mouvement (~tape 2). Une image de l'animal est saisie dans des conditions de rayonnement visible (de rayonnement ultraviolet pour un animal nocturne) (~tape 3). Dans l'image saisie, les diff~rentes parties de marquage sont distingu~es et des points repr~sentatifs de ces positions de marquage sont d~finis (~tape 4). Conform~ment ~ l'ensemble des donn~es de positions de points repr~sentatifs, un mouvement particulier est ~valu~ et pr~sent~ en sortie (~tape 5). L'invention se rapporte ~galement ~ un appareil informatique permettant la mise en oeuvre de ces ~tapes.
