An automatic boring device (400) is provided that comprises a tool housing (410) having attached to it two opposing handles (460) with switches (474, 476, 478) mounted thereon for selective engagement of pneumatic controls that activate a clamping device (26), rotation of a chuck (440) of a pneumatic drill (430), and downward movement of the drill (430). The pneumatic drill (430) is removable and the depth of the downward boring stroke is adjustable.
