An automatic bundler which can be installed in a reduced space is obtained. In the automatic bundler, a bobbin holder is provided at a front portion of a rotating shaft with respect to a vertical wall. The bobbin holder therefore does not protrude rearward from a machine frame, and therefore the automatic bundler may be installed in a reduced space as compared to conventional cases. In another aspect of the invention, first and second direction change members for changing the direction of string by 90° are provided at a corner and a free end of a string winding arm, respectively, and therefore, a flat string may be wound around an object W as flat as it is. Furthermore, according to the invention, the string tying/cutting device is operated by a motor for operating the string tying/cutting device irrespectively of an arm operating motor, and therefore, the string may be wound around the object an arbitrary number of times.
