ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A cash deposit system is disclosed which comprises an operator panel including means for permitting an operator to make a deposit request, a deposit means adjacent to the operator panel for receiving a deposit container inserted by the operator, and a transport means for guiding and feeding the container along a blind entrance path. A first sensing means located in the entrance path generates a position signal when the container reaches a predetermined location in the entrance path, and shift means responsive to the position signal controls the transport means to guide and feed the container along an exit path to deliver the container to a deposit receptacle.
