AUTOMATIC COLOR ANALYSIS BASED ON MINIMUM/MAXIMUM VIDEO LEVEL ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A color film analyzer having a plurality of adjustable control elements. The elements act on color representative video signals which are derived from a film being analyzed. The elements vary a video characteristic of the video signals and thereby vary the display of the video signal generated by the analyzer. Peak detectors detect the video level of the color representative video signals. The detected peaks are converted into digital information and compared to a reference. The reference is derived from underexposed, overexposed and properly exposed reference films. The control elements are automatically adjusted in response to the results of the comparison. -1-
