ABSTRACT Automatic conduit anchorage device for anchoring a control cable assembly in an opening in a support wall. The anchorage device including an elongate body with a shouldered end, axial slots in the body, biasing means and locking pawls positioned in the slots. The pawls have a first end region spaced from the shouldered end of the body, a second end region and a fulcrum point located between the first and second end regions. The pawls are pivotable about the fulcrum point between a locking position in which the first end region is raised out of the slot by the action of the biasing means to a distance sufficient to facilitate locking of the pawls against the support wall for anchoring the anchorage device in the opening, and an open position permitting movement of the anchorage device through the opening.
