An automatic control for terminating the filling of a sausage casing on a sausage casing machine (10) has a sensor (34) on the machine (10) to detect when the rearward end of a telescopic casing is closely adjacent the discharge end of a meat stuffing tube. The sensor (34) is connected to the meat emulsion pump (14) for stopping the pump (14) under such conditions. A timer (30) or pulse counter is associated with the computer (36) on the machine (10) to "measure" when the rearward end of the casing substantially reaches the discharge end of the stuffing tube (16). The timer (30) or counter is operatively connected to the power system (not shown) for rendering the machine inoperative after a predetermined amount of time or pulses. The sensors (34) and timer (30) are connected to the above stated respective components through a computer (36) so that the computer (36) can automatically compensate for the operative time of the second cycle to accommodate for speed changes imposed on the power system in the second cycle. The method involves locating the sensor (34) at the above designated positions to permit the sensor (34) to shut down the pump (14) and to trigger the timer (30) to subsquently shut down the machine automatically.
Commande automatique servant à compléter le remplissage d'un boyau de saucisse sur une machine (10) de remplissage de boyaux et comprenant un capteur (34) situé sur la machine (10) afin de détecter à quel moment l'extrémité arrière d'un boyau télescopique est étroitement contiguë à l'extrémité de décharge d'un tube de remplissage de viande. Ce capteur (34) est relié à la pompe (14) d'émulsion de viande et sert à arrêter la pompe (14) dans les conditions énoncées ci-dessus. Une minuterie (30), ou compteur d'impulsions, est associée à l'ordinateur (36) de la machine (10) afin de "mesurer" à quel moment l'extrémité arrière du boyau atteint pratiquement l'extrémité de décharge du tube de remplissage (16). Ce compteur (30) est couplé au système d'alimentation afin d'arrêter la machine après une durée ou une quantité prédéterminées d'impulsions. Le capteur (34) et le compteur (30) sont reliés aux éléments énoncés ci-dessus par l'intermédiaire d'un ordinateur (36), de sorte que ce dernier (36) peut corriger automatiquement la durée du deuxième cycle, de manière à absorber les modifications de vitesse imposées au système d'alimentation pendant le deuxième cycle. Ce procédé consiste à placer le capteur (34) au niveau des positions désignées ci-dessus afin que ce capteur (34) puisse arrêter la pompe (14) et déclencher le compteur (30) dans le but d'arrêter ensuite la pompe automatiquement.
