System for kiln-drying hardwood wherein the weight of a representative sample positioned remote from the batch of wood to be dried is monitored. The moisture content of the representative sample is calculated from the measured weight continuously and operational parameters with the kiln are automatically adjusted in response to the moisture content of the sample to provide desired drying conditions.
Système utilisé pour le séchage en four de bois dur dans lequel un échantillon représentatif du lot de bois à sécher est placé à l'écart aux fins de mesure et d'observation continue. La teneur en eau de l'échantillon de bois est continuellement mesurée et les paramètres de fonctionnement du four sont automatiquement réglés en fonction de la teneur en eau de l'échantillon afin d'assurer le maintien des conditions de séchage appropriées.
