ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A damper device comprises a paddle wheel adapted to allow, by its rotation, a flow of air through a duct wherein the device is mounted. A thermostat senses the temperature in an area immediately upstream of the paddle wheel and is adapted to control a paddle wheel braking de- vice in such a manner that the braking device is caused to brake the paddle wheel to a lesser extent in proportion to the rise of temperature in the area.
