Abstract of the Disclosure An electric automatic water heating apparatus having a sealed heating chamber to confine steam generated during heating to said chamber. The sealed heating chamber is preferably formed from a heater casting containing a heating resistant rod-type heater embedded in said casting. A thermally conductive cover is sealed to the heater casting with a resilient seal and serves as a portion of a bottom surface of a water reservoir. The cover also serves as a support for a bimetallic member controlling the flow of water from the reservoir into the heating chamber.
